PC issue, need help!

When I boot up my PC, sometimes my monitor wont turn on at all, although the PC itself loads into Windows (can hear the windows intro song). I have to play the on/off game before the monitor will turn on. I am leaning towards the Video Card as an issue. I have the latest video card version, my monitor works fine on other PC. Any advice?

Cable plugged in securely both ends. Its Nvidia Geforce 8800GT.

Hmm, I tried with my other monitor with its own cable, same result.

Alrighty! So I did a reset on BIOS and reseated the Video Card. All seems fine now. Thanks guys! Crisis averted!

Did you clean the dust too? I had an old card that would shut off if the fan got stuck.

Dust out the the whole PC and video card.
Check for any blown, or swollen capacitors on the motherboard or video card


Do you notice any weird dots on the screen? When my Video card was overheating i was getting green specs everywhere

Download RivaTuner or something similar and check the GPU temps.

I also have a 8800gt and it CAN heat up like a mofo sometimes.
