Wow, as the supposed underdogs, they dominated the game all the way through. That one goal the US got was a flukey shot from a bank off a CDN player's glove :P

To be honest, Russia didn't deserve to win either games against Finland or against Sweden. But Shikin > Bobkov, he has played much better and gave Russia a chance. Shikin stood on his head against both Finland and Sweden, if it wasn't for him, Russia wouldn't make it past Finland I don't think.

Canada dominated the US the entire game. Good defensive coverage, crashing the net, the cycle was good, all the players protected the puck well when they had it. Canada played the game they're supposed to play to a T and got rewarded with a 4-1 win.

Canada will likely take care of Russia with ease, but I guess we'll never know cuz I though Sweden could take Russia with ease.

If Canada comes out against Russia like they did against the US, I think Canada has a great chance of getting their 16th Gold.

I was privileged enough to attend the Quarterfinal match between Switzerland and Canada. And there was nothing else that could compare to all that crazy Canadian energy that consumed the building. (Anyone who has me on facebook, check out the pictures, they're incredible).

I can only imagine what it will be like tomorrow when Canada goes for the gold!

And like Matt said, Russia did not deserve to win either game. Especially the quarterfinal one against Finland. The only way they tied it up was with two dirty goals right at the goal line, trying to sweep it into the net. No matter what team it is doing that, I hate goals that come from that type of play.

as much as canada did out play the US, i will say that the canucks were not playing super well prior to the first goal. they seemed a bit panicked, and kind of jumpy. the passing was inconsistent, and there was a lot of individual play. however, after the first goal, they seemed to get some confidence and tightened up.

the us also played a fantastic game. their goalie was amazing, and they all played well, but not well enough :).

visentin's play of the puck really prevented the dump and run offense the us had been playing.

While their play may not have been the best in the first, they were still the better team. They came out with a purpose. They showed they wanted to win this game. The energy from Team Canada was phenomenal, especially if you compare to the US. Canada could easily have score more goals if it wasn't for Jack Campbell. He has the best stats among the goaltenders in the tournament and he easily showed why.

As for the individual play, I've noticed that through the entire tournament and definitely not just limited to Canada. But you have to realize that these guys are all just still teenagers after all, can't really fault them for wanting to be the hero.

Every single team I've wanted to win when I wanted them to win in this tournament has lost except for Canada vs. USA

Canada vs. Sweden - I wanted Canada to win so I could see Sweden in the Quarters live (Not gonna complain seeing Canada vs. Switzerland though)

Russia vs. Finland - I wanted Finland to win so I can watch the battle of the 2 Scandinavian hockey countries (Finland vs. Sweden)

Russia vs. Sweden - I wanted Sweden to win so I could see ANOTHER Canada vs. Sweden gold medal game.

I was going to post, but was busy fitting the eye-holes in my paper bag. What happened?! Period 1 was Canadian domination, period 2 was kind of sketchy, and period 3 it looked like the Leafs were playing!

Defencemen were scurrying around aimlessly, forwards were disinterested in crashing the net as they often did in the tournament, nobody was willing to scrum around the boards, the Russians were allowed to slice through the defence as if they weren't there...
