My power steering has given me trouble in the past but it was nothing a simple engine restart couldnt fix, however now its gotten to the point where i cant even get out of my drive way im completely stranded at home. The light indicator is on and my fluid levels are normal after i popped the hood and checked. I also recently came across the recall thread and my VIN falls under it but somehow I feel like im still gonna get denied by mazda. Im gonna pop by maple mazda and talk to them anyways however, im just wondering how much am I looking at roughly to get this replaced and fixed outside of the dealership?

Your car is still under warranty - let the dealer fix it :)

Yeah... get it towed, and fixed.. and make sure your address is correct with Mazda and you could have had this fixed before this happened.

how is it going to get denied? it's a RECALL... ALL cars affected are supposed to have the parts replaced!

So the TSB is only covered if your still under warranty?

This is a RECALL, not a TSB

who cares if he's under warranty or not... you get the recall work done for FREE regardless of whether you're under warranty or not

You need to give them a talking to. I had my pump and all the lines changed. I was NOT under warranty, and they had not made it a recall when I had mine done it was just a tsb.

Did you have to pay? You maybe eligible for reimbursement now that the recall is out!

I was not under warranty apparently the pump was damaged from a previous accident therefore i have to buy pump
Is that the case though, or is that what your dealership told you?

Well i saw the damage caused by the accident when the car was under the first owner so it is possible

warranty and recalls are completely different things
they are still LEGALLY obligated to replace the pump!
stop being pessimistic and go back and make them do it, or go to another dealer... or you can complain to mazda canada and transport canada
even if the accident had broke the pump, that doesn't mean it wasn't faulty to begin with... why are the cars recalled to begin with? there's no logic in this!

Maple Mazda seem to not like to do things for free, regardless of what it is. I'm in the middle of an oxygen sensor fiasco with them too, in which the dealership is at fault. They seem to need a whole lot of persuasion for anything you don't pay full price for.
subbed, I'm curious to see if you'll get anywhere with them.

Solution: stop going there
is it really that much of a bother to drive to MOT or DWM?

yeah, your absolutely right, I'm pretty much done with that place
I had a power steering failure if you can call it like that.... I was driving my 2010 mazda3 gs, with a started system that they installed it ..... what happen was that, the electric system or panel shut down as well as the car, but I was lucky that it happen right at the corner of my house, on the red light .... I couldn't move the steering wheel and start the car back on again .... I made a research on this problem and many cars are going for different type of recalls, last week also the mazda dealer called me for a recall to be done in my can, because of a engine harness and something else ...... and suddenly today I had that problem ...... I call them and they want me to wait until the recall ..... what should I do ........
thanks
