Highway 401 was closed in both directions near Guelph Line after a tractor trailer crashed in Milton Friday morning.

The truck was carrying about 30 tonnes of sand when it lost control and crashed through the guardrail, dumping its load across the highway at about 8 a.m.

A CP24 viewer captured the crash on their dashboard camera.

No serious injuries were reported in the crash, although several other vehicles were involved.

It doesn't appear there were any mechanical problems with the truck and the OPP says the driver is blaming the accident on poor driving conditions.

Brampton resident Bahadar Bassi, 48, is facing one charge of careless driving.

that was the multi-car pileup on Highway 11... snowsqualls limited visibility and it got really bad really fast.

the video above was for a separate accident on the 401 near quelph

Why was he recording something on his phone or camera while driving. That's against the law. Video is proof. Report this shit to the cops!

he has it mounted on his dash and that is not illegal at all. i say hes smart for having the camera setup incase of something like this.

+1. You can buy them pretty inexpensively, 1280x960 @ 30fps in dash cameras are about $70-$80 USD shipped. There are 720p wide angle versions but those are $120+. I might pick up a 720p version in the end, not really satisfied with the one I'm using now, but I'll see haha :p If I can get rid of it for $40, Ill probably do so.

Example of my in dash camera:

well he did hit another car on the right when he made the swirve as you can see the windshield cracked and the camera shook when it cracked so he did hit something but good swerving none the less.

i think pieces of concrete hit his car, the point is he swerved and avoided the crash. there is no way your going to avoid damage in that situation.

+1, the car that braked in front of the cam car looked like it got riddled with concrete. Plus you see a piece of debris fly across the top of the screen right before the crack appears.

Does it look like there was a car spun out near the median right at the end of the video?

Ya the car in front of him looked like he hit some ice and got turned around. Just a good time to be off the roads basically!

He said he had the video camera cus he was in a previous accident and there was some dispute to it so he had it incase it happened again. The video is crazy, I can't imagine how I would feel if I saw that coming towards me.
