no...there are consequences to anything and everything...but one thing one needs to and can avoid are the consequences of being stupid.

nothing wrong with being lowered!

everything's wrong with the wrong offset and basically wrong wheel for the car...not only did he eff-up the fender AND the wheel cuz he's prolly too ignate to roll his fender and also dragging his bumper down his driveway...

Wow... That's like $1200-1500 worth of damage, just backing out of the drive way!

Fobio
01-26-2011, 01:30 AM
ok...fender might be rolled, but not enough...to make this kinda stuff work, you need to commit to it...roll and pull.

either way, a pothole will be more fun...heck, an expansion joint on the 401 would be like running a curb.

No... lol its not his bumper pretty much comes off so it does not break... this is the cost of being stanced out.. to much? Maybe to some but he's respected in the stance community

IMO true skill would be to get those rims to fit, and not rub and chew up your fenders.

Although I will give the guy credit for what he has done, I think it's a bit too much. Maybe he should invest in airbag suspension so he can drop it down this low for looks, yet still maintain driveability in his car.

I wasn't even factoring his bumper. He messed up his fender and his wheel... Once you mess up a fender you pretty much should paint the entire side of the car anyway, but I didn't even go that far in my calculation. lol

wow... what a krazy vid... I love the VIP Style and krazy offsets but I just think that was waaay too much... I couldn't imagine spending 10 minutes trying to back out of my driveway every single day.... "Beauty is Pain" I guess.. haha!

LOL my gf saw this video the other day and she flipped out haha. Her reaction was very similar to Crystals (on the Stance Is Everything Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/Stance-Is-Everything/438770560550))

Here is my take, that car looks great sitting still, fantastic. But like Steven said, and I mentioned on my blog (as did others) I hope that he gets the rubbing issues sorted out and can actually reasonably drive around on that setup because that's the final steps to a great setup.

As a performance vehicle it's not that anymore but hey it's his car he can set it up how he wants.

Fobio did you see this one I posted?
http://www.stanceiseverything.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/fastandflush.jpg ?

Also what do you think about this red one which is on similar spec'd wheels as the white (I think slightly less aggressive I'll check later)

http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5284/5259606537_0aa5e26c02_o.jpg

I think the white one is better executed than the red but some could argue since the red is more drivable it is better executed.

It's funny.....

I like the black MS3 posted, and love FLUSH fitting wheels. The term "Hella Flush" turned into people trying to run crazier and crazier offsets. The guy in the video has made the car useless. The wheels simply do not fit. I dont think the putting an ill-fitting wheel on a car, and cambering it so badly that its barely drivable is smart. This guy can hardly drive the car, just so he car say he put an X" wide wheel with XXmm offset on the car.

Flush looks good. Its no new fad. I dont think it will be long before people call it "rice". After all, its purely for looks, and takes away from the comfort, handling and safety of the car.

hella flush is a website not a fitment (according to the stance guys at least) ;) hahah i dont think you will see to many people going to these specs because its all about looking good and being usable :)

Kappa - There are a TON of guys running stupid fitments that have an insane amount of camber.

I agree with to much Camber. Although what i was trying to say was i hope that everyone does not end up doing this, there are a lot of guys out there doing it but i would say that majority of people still have somewhat workable setups.

but i agree with you i hope they never end up going to crazy specs like that as the normal for fitment i hope it stays around those photos dave put up

wouldnt he have meant the rims 9" wide?

the tires i have are 215/40/17.

sorry i mean how wide are the tires you have now lol and 215 would be a stretch on a 9" wide wheel haha

Ya sorry for the confusion I meant the 9" wide (or wider) RPF-1s look the best smaller than 9 they look a little different.

Hellaflush is a website but it's also a term some people are using to describe whatever is currently going on with fitment lol.

I plan to run 215's on my 9 which will be a slight stretch but not extreme. Only because 225 40 17 is impossible to find in street spec.

Dave...I'm not really some purist...and to be honest, each of us have enough of a kid inside that we love phat cars with phat wheels and maximum stance. I even like those cartoonish gif's of MS3/MZ3 with a wheel sticking out like strutting leg...lol...

I want to make it clear I do appreciate stance...and yeah, the black MS3 is what flush should be and look like...but I also find it amusing and pleasant to look at cars with crazy wheels and camber that WORKS! Like that drifting Cressida from Japan with like 45* rear camber...

What gets me are ppl who blindly do something, expecting it to somehow work out...nothing wrong with pursuing your goals...just wait til its completion before inviting your friend over to make video and put it on YouTube. =)

Fobio I didn't think you were a purist. I just like to gauge what people like in regards to stance. Market research :P

My friend Aidan said it best, the only driveway you need to make it out of is your own, if you can't do that you're not quite done.

So.....he's basically made a car that's supposed to be quick, and more performance oriented...into something that can't go over slights inclines/dips/bumps?

I don't get it lol

Not to sound like a total dink, but not too long ago people that modded their cars ridiculously to a point where it made the car impractical to use and served no purpose other than to 'stand out' was called ________(fill in the blank)

To each their own I guess, but to me that just made a nice turbo'd, quick car into a cruiser that has to avoid every pothole.

That white car in the video looks terrible. If you look at the fenders it looks they expand way to much and dont make the car look proportional. That car is in no way driveable. I dont think its wrong I think its horrificly terrible

thats just dumb, whats the point of having a car if you cant even drive it properly, especially a "performance" car that cant even go quick anymore. Maybe im wrong and thats just strictly a show car and he has a DD.

Kappa
02-02-2011, 11:50 PM
to clear that up i do believe he used it for performance for a wile got board of that and moved to stance!
