Who you calling 'fat'? Not Chinese but Happy Chinese New Year!!!
And one more question to the Chinese members - how many ways are there to spell in roman letters
'Happy Chinese New Year'? My HK female friend said Guon Hey Fat Choy... Also is this Mandarin or Cantonese?

Well, it doesn't help that most of my family is overseas or in MTL, but when you hit a certain age you don't get 'em anymore :(

it's a stereotype............ which means 99% of the time it's true. obviously it's not 100% of the population..........
you are what people call statistical outliers.
and by the way. it's also very common for HK people to drive subies. particularly imprezas

just sayin.

It has many variables to predict. Year to month to day to hour to minute and probably to seconds that decipher your life(if you believe).

Stereotypes are awesome... but only when they're used in a comedic context... I love making jokes about cultural/racial stereotype.

I don't see a lot of subies in HK (maybe it's just where I stay, who knows?) but I do see quite a few oriental folk in Canada driving Subies

Seriously? I thought it was just the symbolism behind the red of the packet, and the gold of the coin. If you're right, stupid Chinese school must've hexed me till 2050.

LOL. I'm not sure. Being caucasian I didn't know much of anything about this stuff until I started dating an asian girl heh.
But the part about it being unlucky came up in conversation over a year ago, so I can't remember really, maybe it's only unlucky if you're not following tradition (ie: you go and hand them out to your friends / coworkers)?
