I have a 2010 mazda3 sedan GX (2L) with 27,000km.
I have noticed that (especially) when I shift from 1st to 2nd, and especially if it's a lower rpm shift (~2400/2500rpm), I hear an odd "groan" sound as I press down on the clutch and release. And sometimes, (albeit much more quite) when shifting from 2nd to 3rd.
I also might hear the groan sometimes, when I come out of the bend/corner in 2nd (at ~1200rpm) and I accelerate. (ie I am not actively disengaging or engaging the clutch; this after I have already shifted down to slow down and make the turn and I am now accelerating out of the turn).
I would not describe it as a "squeak" or "grind". It is much worse when it's cold out (eg -30) but I still hear it during warm starts, or when it's +5 out like today.
I actually thought it might have something to do with the front driver-side suspension, but it doesn't make the sound when I go over bumps, or physically rock the car when it's parked.
Any suggestions?
Thank you :)
