Yesterday was the first time using the cruise control on my 05 GT in probably more than a year. Every time I signal to change lanes cruise control stops and the car decelerates.
Seems like my turn signals also acts as the "Cancel" button. I am quite sure the cruise control worked properly the last time I used it.

Over the last year I had some electrical mods - high beam DRL, new after market head unit and added OEM heated seats. Not sure if any of these mods caused this, wondering if any of you experienced this problem.

We had this same problem after installing a trailer hitch wiring adapter in our 08 GT. Seems the LED tail lights messed something up with their adapter. They had to take it out and install things a different way for it all to come together. I know you didn't mention installing a trailer hitch or anything but I thought I would add this information just incase.

Good luck.

Actually, I do have a trailer hitch and wiring harness on my car. Last year I replaced the tail lights with OEM LED ones. I'll remove the hitch wiring harness when I get chance. Thanks Mazda3x2.

Probably tapped the wrong wire(s) for the brake lights for the trailer, or you need to add a diode. The cruise control kicks out when you press the brake pedal.... if the trailer has the brake and signal lights on the same bulb a reversed wire or two could cause weird things to happen....
