Hey guys, just wondering if you can help out quickly. Did a brief search but just figured it takes two seconds to ask a specific question anyway...

Anyhow, a buddy of mine got nailed turning left on from Harbour to Yonge, with the cops waiting right at the turn.

Just wondering, I did a quick search for him and the general process (if one believes they are not guilty) is to request a court date and file for disclosure?

Also, because he's not from Toronto, is there any way to request a court date without travelling back into the city? Can I do it as a representative for him?

Lastly, any other tips that I didnt mention?

Thanks!

Btw, just involved in this because the only reason he was driving was for me (N)

EDIT: NVM, found lots of info on ticketcombat. Still wondering as to whether I can show up for him to request a trial date though? As well as any tips would be helpful! (I'm googling + forum searching as we speak). Thanks

If he got a ticket, shouldn't there be an option on the ticket for requesting a trial? Then he (or you) can sign it with his name and just drop it off at the local office.

Also I think there's a "right" for him to request an electronic(?) or remote trial.

I think he needs to show up himself at one of the offices to fill in another intent to appear for trial or something... But not too sure about this one.

However, I think he has to come back to TO for the trial. I got a ticket for speeding on my way to Thunder Bay and I was forced to pay it since I wasn't going to drive another 16 hrs back just for the trial... Maybe be different in TO?
