I know there are many threads on the Caska head units. But I could not find info on this particular question.
I am considering this head unit:http://www.autodvdgps.com/2010-new-mazda-3-dvd-gps-navi-bluetooth-handsfree-ipod-radio-notebook-reading-p-1001.html , QL-MZD973 for my 2010 Speed3.
It seems to support the OEM steering wheel controls(key), have GPS, ipod support .
Post says it is compatible only with the Bose systems, which my car came with.
Am I missing any features? Any reason why this would not be compatible?
General thoughts?
$459 seems too cheap...

Interesting, that looks pretty solid... and I have a 2006. It says it retains the LCD screen and all functions with the exception of the 2004-2005 models so I should be good.

I purchased a unit for my 2010 3 off of autodvdgps a couple months ago. The listed price on the site was 489.00. On delivery the invoice listed the cost of the unit to be $130 to save some money on duty tax which was great. No problems with the unit so far

SFW did you purchase this head unit? I have a 2010 speed 3 as well and am planning to purchase the same thing. Anything you don't like about this unit?

I did purchase the head unit, and overall am pleased. One annoyance I have, is theere is no seperaate subwoofer control. As a result, when in navigation mode, my sub woofers are not at full strength.
That has me thinking of selling the system.

Thanks for the reply.
Do you know what the difference is compared to this one?
http://www.autodvdgps.com/7-digital-touchscreen-dvd-navigation-player-with-pip-rds-bluetooth-for-2010-2011-mazda-3-p-1040.html
Did the maps come with it? Or did you have to buy it separately?

maps come with the unit, on a MicroSD card. As for differences, it looks similar, except my unit supports usb devices(memory key), and ipod. This one only appears to support ipod.

There are several places in T.O. that sell very similar head units that look like Caska.
If you do a kijiji search for "Mazda 3 Navigation" you'll find a couple. They are selling for approximately $600 (not sure if tax is included).
The plus side is you can buy sooner, and don't have to wait for delivery or duty.

How much did you end up paying in duties and taxes?

I'm guessing this unit (http://www.autodvdgps.com/7-inch-digital-touchscreen-dvd-navigation-player-with-pip-rds-bluetooth-for-2010-2011-mazda-3-p-1040.html)is not the correct one for us, it uses RDS (Euro radio from what I can tell?) $399
Is this the unit (http://www.autodvdgps.com/2010-mazda3-dvd-player-with-gps-navigation-and-8-touchscreen-bt-ipod-p-972.html) to get? $475
