Today is the 10th anniversary of Dale Earnhardt's death while competing in the Daytona 500. Well, Michael Waltrip won the NWCTS Daytona race tonight; 10 years to the day since Michael has won a NASCAR race, which was that fateful race day at Daytona.

The atmosphere was amazing there. I was sitting at the entrance to pit road for tonights race.

When Mikey started pushing Sadler out in front of the pack you could just feel that he was going to make the right move to get around him.

Assuming you watched the race, maybe you can clue me into something. When the hell did his spoiler break? I swear it was up on the last lap and must of broke after the checkers, but they didn't really mention it on the track pa even though we could see it was split.

You are there???!!!!! Lucky you!

... as for the broken spoiler, I was watching the race and saw multiple replays of the finish, and it appears that it broke right after the finish, but I can't say for sure. It does bring up the questions as to if the spoiler broke before the finish line:

Was it a malfunction that actually helped him pass Stadler?
Did he have a little button, that when pushed, dropped half the spoiler? :chuckle

I betcha this issue is all over the forums down south.

I really like how he and Sadler pasted the pedal to the floor and really took off from the pack on the last lap. Guaranteed that those engines are cooked. I could feel that Mikey was racing with someone looking over his shoulder all night long... and ya, I knew that if he stayed glued in second 'til the last corner, the win was sure to come.

Aside from the last wreck that took out half or most of the contenders, it was a great race.

It was so much fun to finally watch a truck race at daytona that wasn't a complete wreckfest.

The nationwide race today was good. Would have been nuts if jr managed to win. But I was happy with Stewart winning.

We are just before the start/finish line for Saturday and Sunday.

Looking forward to the 500 tomorrow. Gonna be fun.
