I have a 2008 GS 2.0. Auto. 70 000kms

I think these might be two separate problems but I'll post them together because maybe they're related?

So what happens is when accelerating as the car is reving and it hits under 3K rpm I'll hear a sort of grating or ticking sound. I can't tell where it's coming from. I can consistently reproduce it. If I put the car in P or N there is no sound so it only happens when the car is in motion. I got mazda of toronto to look at it but they insisted they heard no sound.

The second problem happens in both triptronic mode and full auto mode. If I see that the car is in 3rd or 4th gear. If I take my foot of the accelerator and wait for the car to slow down then I hit the gas pedal again even lightly I hear a clunk and the car jerks very slightly. I can reproduce it if I keep taking my foot off the gas and then back on. The car doesn't downshift when I do that. I can also lock it into 3rd or 4th with the triptronic shifter and it does the same thing.

Are these both 'normal' things for this car? Maybe the mechanic didn't hear anything because it's considered normal? Last time I went in they said the tranny fluid was dirty but would that cause this?

This car is a lease and I was thinking about purchasing it but might be giving it back now if it's some major problem that might crop up.

Ideas?

clunk eh? not too familiar with this but it possibly might be a motor mount. the front passenger mount is the easiest to check once you pop the hood.

What is the motor mount?

I have brought it in. They claim they can't hear anything. Maybe I should insist the tech go for a ride with me.
