Anyone out there have experience in installing a head unit, running wires for bluetooth up the a frame, running the satellite antenna to the rear and full install? just got me a pioneer head unit from the classifieds and must admit it looks a little daunting, could use some help?
Anyone down? of course couple brews and cash would be in the picture.
if not anyone know a good 'how to' thread?

It's actually pretty easy. The A-pillars in the 2005s don't have air bags so you don't have to worry about those when pulling off those.

Have you asked any of the sponsors about the install?

Also you don't need to put the gps and sat radio antenna in the rear. I have mine right overtop the center vents. Never had issues with it.

As for the install it's pretty simple to do. But if you don't know how I'd suggest talking to one of the sponsors. Not sure how much they charge but I'm sure you don't want to **** up a nice expensive head unit cause you don't know

The GPS antenna will work perfect under the center vents but the satellite radio doesn't based on my experience. If you put the satellite radio antenna there then you'll end up with some cutting in and out depending on which way the car is pointing and where exactly the satellite is above you.

You're probably better off contacting one of the forum sponsors as well. Even though the install isn't hard, it'll take a few hours to do.

That's odd. I never had issues with mine

It may depend on the actual area you are in. Sat antennas are usually supposed to go on the outside for the best reception but I have seen them work just fine on the inside.

I ran mine to the back of my car and mounted the antenna in the corner of where the plastic meets the glass and I've never had a problem.

Your pioneer nav should have cone with a sticky metal pad to attach the nav antenna to. Instead attach the nav antenna to the top of the deck and use that pad as the base for the sat antenna and mount it in the back of the car.

I'll post a pick tomorrow so you know what I mean.

thanks everyone for the help and input. I took your advice and contacted one of our old sponsors 'Mcguyver'. Brilliantly installed, even set up my phone to make sure everyhting worked before we slapped the car back together. Thanks again Dave
