This happened in my own driveway. Friday night between 2 and 4 am. Orangeville Ontario. I have filed a police report. Chances are they won't catch them. It's gonna cost a lot to fix. i've got a $500 deductible so i'm not going to go through insurance. I'd like to get a carbon fiber hood if i could. however, im so pissed off right now it makes it hardly worth doing anything nice to my 3 if crap like that is going to happen.

not to sound negative, but not likely. It's going to need a respray. Not enough paint on mazdas to buff that out.

When i commented i was looking at it on my Iphone and it looked like it wasn't deep so that why i said it could be buffed out. Either way his hood is screwed it wouldn't hurt for him to try...even he get's some of it off it will look alot better and it could save him from painting

I noticed on my street in Barrie that many cars have been broken into and vandalized, I got a 2 way alarm and sleep with the keys under my pillow incase anything happens hopefully I can catch the asses who do it.

UPDATE: Brand new hood is $468 and to have it painted on both sides is $300. To have my hood repaired is $500. I think i will get it repaired.

Sorry to see this happens. I guess it's best to let the anger go. The unfortunate thing is there's nothing much you can do. If you catch the person who did it the most you can do it get the police to arrest them. And it's not like that's going to stop such people from repeating in the future or really teach them a lesson. And if you try physical violence it just gets your butt in trouble. It's a bit unfair but oh well. It's likely people who do things like this are going to go through life taking the bus or driving shit boxes.

The cop said if they catch the person(s), they can give the bill to the parents or make the arrested pay it back. i guess like restition or something.

They followed up on my case today and said they have leads coming in. Fingers crossed :)
