Hello everyone
I have a 2008 Mazda 3 (GX) 5 speed, with about 75,000 kms.
I have noticed in the last month, when I get on the highway and I am cruising in 5th gear and I want to slow down slighly, I will let go off the gas throttle and when I want to accelerate back up slightly, I will feather it back (hard to explain, but basically I am not driving the car hard). Once I let go off the gas and I feather it back (when I am in 5th gear I've noticed), the car will do a little jerk or heistation as if power is cutting off.
I've brought it in to the Mazda Mississauga on Erin Mills to look at it last week. The service advisor wasn't keen on even listening to me, and said he would take the car out to recreate the problem (and of course it wasn't happening). He said if the engine light isn't coming in, there is nothing that can be done. He even suggested that because I am in 5th gear that the lurge/hesitation is because I am not gearing down (which I am not believing. I am not flooring it in 5th gear and I've been driving a manual transmission for years now.. And I was feathering the throttle and being gentle).
I thought maybe there is a service bulletin or something outhere for this. Hell, I am even willing to pay for the repair myself if it is the result of a bad sensor or something. I just do a long commute to work and I don't want this problem getting potentially bigger.
Any ideas?
