Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if any other 2010 Mazda 3 owners has had this problem. Can't seem to find anything about it except for the older models that had the VVT noise problem. I started to have this problem 2-3 days ago... so I'm thinking because of the cold starts. I'm using GC 0w30 oil by the way. So is it the VVT making the noise just like the older Mazda 3s?

I'm thinking of going to the dealership to have it checked but before I do, I want to ask here first if anybody experienced this before so that I would know what to tell the service guys.

Man, I'm getting worried.

Thanks in advance for the inputs.

Not much info to go on here, does it sound like a loose belt or something? How long before the noise goes away? etc. etc

I heard a ticking/clicking noise today too when I started my mz3 gt 2010. It went away after about 5 mins.

Did you end up finding the problem?

I have a 2010 GT. I haven't noticed any ticking, chirping or squeaking during a cold start in the morning. Ask the dealer while it's still under warranty.

I had a ticking noise, like something was lose when I went over bumps in the morning, but that was very cold like -15 - -20, but once the car heated up there were no more noises, and when the weather gets hotter noises seem to reduce as well

My 2010 Mazda3 has been 'chirping' for nearly 18 months. The first fix, the dealership thought it was the serpentine belt / tensioner. They replaced it under warranty. Chirping starting again within a week, but the dealer tech could not detect it at all whenever I brought it in for service. Long and short, this week, they replaced it again, as well as 'reserviced' the brakes. STILL happening. Usually occurs when the car is warm, hence has been running for longer than 10 minutes. The chirping occurs at all speeds and only when the car is in motion, is heard 'mostly' on the passenger side of the engine, but can travel to driver's side. Taking it back again tomorrow. Any thoughts?
