So when's everyone planning on doing them this year? Weather the next two weeks is almost looking good but there's a lot more snow to melt this year than there was last.

I guess we need this thread every year.

Here's a good one for reference.

This so belongs in the general section...it's not about as the tag on the forum says "Discuss[ing] technical issues involving the wheel and tires", it's about when to switch! I did not know there were technical issues involving switching summers to winters.

Over moderation at it's finest as always on TM3

I was thinking the same thing...but March 25 sounds like a good day for me to switch + do all my car errands (day off)

Just because the section is labelled "Technical" doesn't mean it can't be here. Anything related to wheels/tires can be in this section.

Over moderation would be me locking your thread for creating another redundant thread. :rolleyes

The weather is staying above zero, no need to keep winter tires on and shorten the life span. At least, thats my reason. But another week won't hurt either.

I have to buy some new tires soon so I will probably wait until mid to late April. Maybe a powdercoat of my stock rims are in order as well. Not sure though...

Except it's not redundant as this changes year by year. I still think it should have been in general where the vast majority of people will see/read it and it's pertinent. The logic you have applied to this thread should mean every single thread in general should be moved to some other section. Just sayin :rolleyes

Maybe wait another week or so and then switch over. by the first weekend in april, my summers will definitely be on.

Ya I think I will wait a few more weeks just so the temp isnt still dipping below zero. So maybe the first or second week of April. The weather has been so hit or miss. I would rather not take chances.

Generally I wait for the temperature to hit double digit +degrees celsius for a full week. But over the last couple of years, becuase the last snow fall has been different from each year... it's hard to say. Last year I already put my ris on by this time (just before Performance World). 2 years ago, I think I waited will the first week of May.

I'm hoping to put them on during the first week of April (or as long as NextMod allows me to hold them there :) )

I have all-season performance tires as summer set. guess I can afford switching late in winter and early in spring, noh?
