My new to me 2009 Mazda6 GT came with OEM Michelin MXM4's.
Tires are 235/45/18, and have 56000 klm's on them.
Tread depth is around 4 to 5/32nds.

Hate these tires for summer use ... they are bumpy and very loud.
I just took off my General Articmax snow tires (albeit 16" size), and find my
Michelin's are way too loud, and very rough riding.

My Mazda dealer and Simply Tire both recommend Yokohama Envigor tires for
smoothness and low noise.

Does anyone have any advice on the Envigor's?

They will be used for summer driving, and I my priorities are smoothness and quietness. I realize my tire's profile are part of the problem, but these Michelin's
are ridiculously loud ... sounds like a window is open at times.
Internet reviews on the Envigor are mixed ... some people say they are very
quiet, others complain about the noise.

Had the dealer check my tires for balance, runout, and check the rims.
All are ok.

Thanks in advance for any advice on the Yokohamas.

(I know its not a Mazda 3 ... I've owned three of them, and much prefer this
community than the 6 community ... hope no one minds?)

Maybe try the other two tire sponsor about those tires to see what they have to say about it?

Thanks for the feedback.
Do you think I'll notice a noise improvement over the MXM4's?
I hear the Michelin's get really loud as you load up the miles, and I'm at 56k.

envigors are guaranteed by yokohama to get 100,000 km, they are also half the price of the michelins.
there are continental extreme contact dws which are great tires as well but they are in the same price range as the michelins
Bridgestone potenza grid g019 are good, a bit more than the yokohamas
one other option is a goodyear eagle gt, cheaper than the michelin as well

I love my Pirelli P-Zeros ... and a few people I know have similar good things to say about them.

I'm running Continental Extreme Contact DWS for this up coming season. The Mustang, Subaru and some on the Porche forums praise this tire. It's got all possitive reviews up on Tire Rack and are not as $$$ as the Michelins.
