Bluetooth Audio - Delay?

I love the Bluetooth Audio interface for my iPod touch but the consistent delay in searching for the device upon starting the car is starting to annoy me. Yes, I'm that impatient that ten seconds bothers me.

Is this happening to you? Is there any way around it?

I dont have in car bluetooth but i would assume no. Searching and connecting is a natural part of it. Does your phone auto connect?

I notice the same with mine. I don't mind the searching/connecting time it takes to connect BUT it does kinda bother me when I skip tracks and the delay is 1-2 seconds before it actually goes to the next song.

Ah well, still a good and easy system to use and I'm still very happy about it.

I believe it depends on the device. My car connects with my phone in less then 5 seconds. I'm using a Galaxy S phone.

Be happy that it actually connects and streams well with no hiccups. Some people get buffering issues with BT, which is quite depressing =/

I noticed a few almost imperceptible hiccups in playback, but they only happen when I hit a cyclist.

I guess I'll use those 20 seconds to be grateful that the connection works at all, then.

Is this a Mazda issue or a general automotive Bluetooth issue?

most OEM systems take 5-10 seconds to connect as well as aftermarket systems. It depends where the BT power up is located on their boot list basically.

For example most aftermarket NAV units power on, load map, connect GPS, radio, and then BT and so on down the chain.

It completely depends on the engineering. But before I yanked my headunit out I was connected in about 5-8 seconds.
