Hey so kind of a noob question. But what is the hub centric ring for?

When I purchased my gf's rims, it came with hub centric rims but the seller who had it on his mazda3 did not use it and it sat fine. Would I have to use it on hers?

it fits over the hub some rims the center ring is a bit wider then the car. so the plastic hub ring will make it a bit thicker so it sits perfectly.

the hub centric rings are used to take pressure off of the lugs, and place it back on the hub instead. They basically tighten everything up and make it easier to get the rim where it's supposed to be.

If your wheels hub bore is not the same as the vehicles hub size you will need to use hubcentri rings.

They insure the wheel is perfectly aligned with the hub reducing stress to the wheel/lugs/studs and also reducing vibrations caused by improper seated wheel..

Just because youve bolted the wheels on does not mean they are perfectly aligned.

Mazda 3 hub size=67.1mm
