View Full Version : New Rims Decided - The results

Well after my poll on what rims to get this year, the results are in. I have decided with the following for two reasons. It is a great set of rims that are lightweight which is what I really wanted and also I highly doubt you are going to see another 3 on the road with these. For those two reasons the winner......the Mugen GP's.

Now I know people stated that they are for Hondas etc. But I think they have a universal appeal. I've snapped a few preliminary pics for you all to check out.

Tires are coming in tomorrow and I am just waiting on my wheel locks now from Japan (that might take a while) but in the mean time I just have to wait for the weather to get better before getting my calipers painted and getting these mounted :)

Originally as well the hub bore is 64.1mm stock for the Honda's but I got the center bored out and it's now a stock 67.1mm to fit the Mazda's so good to go.

Only thing now is to see if the Mazda center caps will fit....I'll have to see what I can rig up.

Good job. But make sure the rims will fit because i believe this is part of an OEM rim which might have a set center bore to 64.1 and mazda uses 67.1.

This is actually an oem rim on 2008 Mugen SI. So make sure you test fit this first.
But otherwise, good choice on rims and these are really lightweight. I always wanted a set for my civic but don' twant to pay so much for tires on that car.

Thanks all, the cost was much less than say a Rays or Volk set of rims so it was a deal I couldn't pass up really.

If you don't mind me asking....where did you take them to have them bored?

Got it done at a place called Superior Machining. Recommended to me by Allen. Did a fantastic job. They are on Keele just north of Hwy 7. Cost me $150 cash ask for Dan.
