Recently, iv been noticing a rattling noise coming somewhere on my passenger side. I cam mainly hear it going through medium bumps, big ones i don't hear a thing and neither with small bumps.

I took out everything from my Hatch, made sure the rear seats were up properly, my spare, jack and tools are secure and not moving. emptied my glove box and most of the stuff out of my car and it still happens.

before people say the Engine mount i changed it less then a year ago, so it shouldn't be that, my fear is that it's the shock/suspension, any ideas what else it could be?

It is possibly the glovebox door that is rattling.

Try this. While driving, reach over with your right hand and firmly press the outside of the glovebox door towards the dash. Or have a passenger do it. See if the rattle stops.

The early model Mazda3's were all plagued with the glovebox rattle.

Maybe it's your passenger? Have you tried fastening your passenger down? Or maybe your passenger is old and fragile? If that's the case, you may want to look into replacing your passenger.

Edit: okay, I'll be serious now. Have you checked your fuel door? maybe the filler cap is loose or something?

Im almost certain that your struts are leaking.. i hear the same thing and i noticed the oil leaks on them when i changed my tires.. but hopefully its not that..

Thats what i think and getting it looked at this afternoon,

I was hoping to get some other ideas or things to check first before i pay a guy to look at clean struts

I have the same noise, emptied everything from the car and glovebox noise is still there. My strut is also leaking on the passenger front. After work Im gonna try to adjust the hood, hopefully its that and not the strut, well either way I gotta get a strut anyway. Ill post if adjusting the hood makes the noise go away.

wasn't able to get it check yet, however i noticed this morning and yesterday morning there was no noise from it, probably because it was cold outside and i'm pretty sure this has some type of effect on the liquid in the strut

i had some rattling recently too, turned out to be my HID ballast hanging and banging against the frame of the car, only happend on medium bumps, did you check the engine bay for any loose relays, cables or objects?

turns out it was the sway bar end link bushing that was bad, about $60 later and it's all good

was your noise coming from the rear of the car?
