So I got the DIN Speedline dash kit for the 04-09 Mazda3 and supplied with the kit was two plastic pieces for the LCD panel. For the life of me, I cannot figure out where it goes! Can someone shed some light on this?

as they sit in the picture the top end screws into the lcd. They only fit in one way. the bottom part that has a right angle will go underneath the plastic panel that has the vents on it. Just pop it up(you won't break anything) and match up the screw holes. It isn't a perfect fit but works once you put the trim piece back on.

I tried exactly that. The panel with the vents where the screws go into have an edge that seems to prevent the lcd holder from sitting flush. Was that the case with your unit?

Another question I have is, did you use any brackets of any sort to aid installation? The stock deck has a rubber cylinder that extends to the back of dash which supports the headunit from moving. Any issues with the aftermarket deck shaking/knocking without it?

Yea it doesn't sit quite right, those plastic pieces will sit on kinda of an angle because they weren't made quite right.

Also no I didn't use any sort of brakets other than the two plastic pieces that screw into the side of the deck, never had any problems just make sure you're neat with your wiring there isn't a ton of room behind the deck.

its really hard lol took me almost a hour to figure it out its one way pointing into the dash from the unit to make the bracket fit & get needle nose pilers because the screws they give you to put the bracket are small lol

Oh thank goodness I'm not the only one struggling with this :P. I'm going to give it another shot. Can someone snap a picture of their dash with this kit on (lcd included)? I want to know whether the vent and trim piece would sit flush like it did stock. Thanks!

You're awesome! Thank for the pictures :)

Do you think trimming the edge with an utility knife to this part would alleviate the fitment issue?
