what size tires???

putting on 17"rims on my 08 3, what size tires should i get?? want a smooth ride, 205/50/17 or 225/45/17? or any other suggestions?

If your going to pu oem rims stick with 205/50/17

If you are going with aftermarket then go with 225/45/17

Why would you chose a different sized tire if the rim size was the same size even if it was an aftermarket?

You would have a wider stance with the 225 tire but more of a wheel gap look.

cause the oem snow flakes on the 08 is 17x6.5 so a 225/45/17 would be a little wide for the size of his rims.... and say he has aftermarket ones then most poeple will put either 17x7 or 17x7.5 which is perfect for 225/45/17

The OP needs to give a little more info

Orginaly i had 215/45/17 on my aftermarket rims 17x7.5 and they didn't look right..i changed them to 225/45/17 and they look way better

I had 215/45/17's on 17x7's on my old 3 and they fit/looked pretty good.
