So I recently got a 2007 Speed3 and got a flyaudio unit from a member instead of installing my old deck. When trying to install it, I got sound from the radio but nothing from the rest of the unit. When I plugged in my old deck to test, no sound at all from that. Further checking online I've come to realize that it's due to the BOSE unit in the speed3 and what I believe is the fact that the decks aren't sending a signal to turn on the stock amp which from my understanding controls/powers the speakers as well as the stock sub.

My question is if there is a way, without modding the flyaudio deck, to send the remote turn on signal when the car starts so that the audio will work and I don't have to buy a new deck and can get this done soon? If there is, is there anyone willing to help me with this as I'm not too comfortable with stuff like this.

If not, is there anything I can do to keep the stock stereo but get a new deck or would I be in the same situation? This is mostly to get iPod and GPS as I get tired of listening to the radio and like having built in navigation when needed. If this CAN'T work, I guess I could always get a portable GPS again and run my iPod through the AUX plug but I'd rather have an all-in-one unit.

Thanks for any help. I tried searching but no answer was really clear enough for me to understand. Hopefully someone can help though.

EDIT: And yes, I'm aware I have the flyaudio unit for sale...but if this can be done easily and no one buys it, I'll just keep it and do the work-around method...

Guys correct me if i'm wrong as I don't have any specific experience with Mazda BOSE system, but I'm assuming that you would have to find the remote turn-on wire for the BOSE amps and wire it to a fuse that is active when the ignition is on. I would also install an inline 1-amp fuse to this remote wire for additional protection.

Yeah, in my reading I think I have an understanding of it but just wanted to see if I'm on the right track. Might try it this weekend once I get a couple tap connectors...

As a note for others who stumble on this thread, here's how I did it.

With the help of this guide - MSF - Indash OEM fit DVD/NAVI/STEREO (http://www.mazdaspeedforums.org/forum/f13/indash-oem-fit-dvd-navi-stereo-42849/)

If you scroll down to where it says "UPDATE: THANKS TO DARKSUN280 AGAIN!!!!!"

You'll find out how that person got theirs working. By seeing that and confirming what cable I needed to tap into, with the help of a friend, I checked the FlyAudio deck and found a cable that had power going to it only when the car was on ACC/ON. I then took a couple of these connectors ( Instant Tap Connector (http://www.dubuque-forsale.com/OLD-ADS-FROM-PREVIOUS-YEARS/2009/April/Blue-instant-tap-connectors-18-14-gauge-lot-of-10-picture.jpg) ) with some wire and tapped from the stock wiring to the cable on the FlyAudio. Success, sound worked! There is a slight hissing sound on mine but it's only when the car isn't moving and when the volume is low/muted so to me, it's a non-issue.

Hope this is helpful to whoever finds this trying to do the same thing. This should work with any deck. If the deck you have doesn't have power going to it when the car is on, you just have to find an alternate power source. I was going to tap into the Cigarette plug but this was easier for me at the time.
