Long story short, received an improper muffler ticket from a dick of a cop. My trial date is in just over a week and I need some help proving that these cars are louder than a basic Mazda 3, or simply that my car actually has a stock muffler/exhaust.
PROBLEM IS, I've just found out that I'm not going to be in town for the next week.
ANY feedback would help.
Thanks in advanced

Wow. Cops are jerks.
Can you have a Mazda dealership or a mechanic sign off on the fact that the car has no modifications done to the exhaust?
If not, all MS3 owners will get a ticket if they don't feather the throttle!

I was going to suggest the same thing. You just need to show proof that it is stock and that "should" be enough for the judge.

Wow that is half past retarded... please tell me he at least pulled you over for something a little more reasonable, like going 30 over the limit or something?

^Yeah, I was pulled over for speeding. At the time it was my first time ever being pulled over in 6 years of driving.. Gave me the full ticket and the muffler.
When it rains, it pours

when they effing give you two tickets, it's a tactic...they'll let you off of one and nail you on the other.
if you're not in town, and you're going to fight it, PM me...I know a guy. they'll go to court for you and do all the due dillengence necessary...

Yeah I think an endorsement from a Mazda dealer would be the best bet...But it should be signed by a Licensed Tech.
To OP, sucks man.Did you let the cop know it was a stock exhaust at the time? And if you can't show get an Agency to show up for you, to fight both tickets...It may cost you but may be worth it.

It boggles my mind that cops are still issuing tickets to cars with improper exhaust when there are Harlies out there that are at least twice as loud as any "improper" exhaust on a car!

i asked that question too and its because vehicles can be aware that a bike is around or about to pass them, which makes sense

motorcyclists get dinged on a regular basis for improper mufflers, even when there is an OEM silender on the bike.

Truth!
There was a bike that came down my street the other day while I was working in my garage and I swear it has to be the loudest f*cking bike I have ever heard in my life. At least as loud as 100 fart can equipped honda's revving at a stop light...how do they seem to always get away with being so damn loud?

Going to a dealer mechanic and have them write something up would be your best bet, but these subjective tickets are pretty hard to fight.

There is nothing subjective if he has the stock exhaust.

I am not surprised by these idiot cops. My manager drives a two year old Ferrari and he was stopped by one, stating his car was too loud. My boss told the cop that the car was street legal in Canada and the exhaust system is stock and certified . The cop insisted that the car shouldn't be that loud.
My boss asked what was the cop stating his facts on? How much decibles over. was the noise?
Finally the cop gave up and let him go.

Don't cops there have to pull out a deciemeter and check how loud it really is... stock or not?? If not the laws there are a scam.. typical of vehicle laws.

They'll try anything to meet their quota. Usually they'll pull you over for something else and then nail you for loud muffler. But if it's only muffler they just hope you won't fight it and pay up.
What police service was this? Sounds like a peel region robo cop.
