Losing oil and has noise in motor

I have seen a couple of threads about the noise of the motor but nothing exactly to what I want to ask.
My car once has had low oil in it..not too low tho...engine light has come on during the winter but they checked it out and fixed it and it has been fine then on..also last year the serpentine and AC belt came off.......

How else would I be losing oil..I do not see any leaks..it is a 2004 mazda 3 with 148,000 kms on it............

How much oil are we talking about here? Could be a clogged PCV, rings, valve seals, seal/gasket leak. What was the engine light on for exactly? and are you sure it was the engine light and not the oil light?
