I'm a Mazda 3 owner who just recently purchased a Miata so this may be a bit off topic but just wanted to provide my experience and get some advice.

I've read on a few forums that most dealerships will enable to Autolock feature for the smart key fob without a charge and that this is a fairly quick procedure (ie: 10 minutes). Sadly I've received quotes from $50-$100. :( I called Kieswetter, Lallo in Brantford & Forbes in Waterloo. I'd like to use all the features that my car comes with but for that price, I can lock in a conventional way. It's just a shame that I can't use it without a big price.

Why not just get your selling dealer to do it?

I bought the car used so didn't buy from a Mazda dealer.

Now that is pathetic..

Try and get them to do it when you are having service done.

I replied to your thread on miata.net saying that if you are a regular customer then our dealership would reprogram it for no charge when you are in having work done. I'm surprised that even the dealer you bought your 3 from wouldn't do it.
