LED 3RD BRAKE LIGHT (Modded the mod)

So I recently purchased a 3rd brake light from Rsquared (thanks again)

I made a few adjustments to the LED board among the normal housing mod



Here's where i started, LED tail lights, incandescent 3rd brake light:

So i didn't like the original LED light and its circuits and white writing, this is how I got it:

So i decided to make a few adjustments. I used straws to cover the LEDs and i spray painted it matte black along with the light housing:

this shows the little L bracket i used to hold the LED in place, i had to trim it down a little to fit inside the housing (thank you grinding wheel)

Thanks all, I really like how it turned out

had some minor issues with it today though, it "stopped working". the wires on the plug end have to be on the right spot to make contact so it took a bit of wiggling and bending...but hopefully i wont have to open it all up again

Good Job! This is classic DIY home brew work.


I'm unhappy with my made-from-scratch DIY one... I drove behing my wife one day and it's totally not bright enough in the daylight for me. I 'm gonna have to redo it
