I'm trying to organise the supper portion of a bachelor party for my brother in law. It will happen in Toronto, but I'm from Barrie and I don't know much about the big city. I'm hoping that there are people here that could help with ideas.

The idea for the night is pretty simple. Go for some food, then hit a few bars.
So I'm in charge of the food part. I'm looking for a place that can accommodate a group of about 20 people. Looking for decent food, and obviously a fun atmosphere. Maybe we could get a private/separated area. A place with nice looking waitresses would be nice too.
Anyway, I'm pretty open to all your ideas, especially if you think mines are lame. It will happen June 10 if that makes a difference.

Please share your bachelor party experiences!

what kind of food you intrested in.
are you going to club district for the clubs or some outside ones.

There is LOTS of choices, in the bloor and bathurst area, paupers pub is a good place. lots of room with 3 or 4 levels, and a rooftop patio.

Why shoot paint when you can shoot lead? ;)

for my bach. party a couple of us went wakeboarding (a usual event for us), then went and drank beer/played pool at our local pub. it was great.

for my best friend bach party i have a couple ideas planned incl. going to elora gorge for some river tubing/floating.

we're not really into getting drunk/strippers/gambling etc. though.

I was thinking of paintball for the afternoon, but we got some tickets for the Jay's game instead. Not exactly my first choice but I'm not making the calls. Just helping out with the restaurant part and trying the make the best of it.
We'll be hitting a few bars and the strippers after, so finding a restaurant in that area of town would be better.

I found a bunch of company that organise an evening for you, but that looks a bit cheesy. Anyone used those services before? Is it worth it?

There's a great place on Yonge St called The Brass Rail, they've got really good food. It's got an .... old rail car theme to it ... Yeah, that's it....

Yah, that place is awesome! The food is good, and they even show you how to..... clean the brass off of old rails! Very fun and informative! They carry the... old rail car theme.... in their back areas too! Fun stuff!

the only stag ive been to was like that. Great actually. but only worth it if you have a ton of ppl. The more ppl the more chance you have of making money back.

For restaurants it really depends on what your brother in law wants to do. Is he a foodie? Does he wants a place where he can drink? Does it have to be close to the skydome for quick and easy after the game?

If he likes to go to a sports place and he wants it close to the dome you can try Gretsky's. I ate there once and it's ok nothing that special but I guess it's a restaurant with the great one's name on it so for a sports fan maybe?

Or for something a bit more exotic: http://www.thesultanstent.com/ go when there's the belly dancing to add a bit of something something?

And if he wants to try a lot of strange beers there's also the beer bistro the food's decent there and price isn't too bad either Small place though so if you have a big group make your reservation early. Don't go to beer market for food that's horrible place to eat.

For a big steak (too bad you didn't ask before they had a 75 buck gift card for 45 anniversary special) there's Ruth Chris and also Barbarian. My friend had his bachelor's dinner at the Barbarian and it was pretty good but expensive. Ruth Chris was also expensive.

If it's a small enough group (max like 6 to stretching it to 8) there's also corner house which remains one of my favorite place to eat as the price is reasonable and the quality has kept pretty consistant.

For well heeled parties there's also north 44 which is pretty expensive.

Alternatively for big eaters with a twist you can try one of the brazilian all you can eat bbq places like http://www.opentable.com/copacabana-brazilian-steak-house-reservations-toronto?rid=32413&restref=32413

And if you and your brother in law are ok with potentially raw fish there's always Guu http://www.guu-izakaya.com/ which a lot of people rave about non stop. If all the other choices don't sound good go with Guu :)

Another thing you could try is a restaurant crawl. Get one crourse / drink at each restaurant, so one place for drinks, another for appetizers, another for more drinks, another for soup/salad or just skip to main, etc.
It can be a lot of fun, just have some kind of challenge planned that has to be accomplished at each one.... could be anything from getting a kiss from a waitress to getting the bar to make the craziest drink/shot they can think of and making the groom drink it!

IF you want sports bar you could try Real Sports. It is beside the ACC and Union station. Named best sports bar in North America, and has a MASSIVE Giant screen, like 40 feet or something stupid like that. Waitresses are dressed well and are generally attractive, and the food is really good. The upper level has a golf simulator and has a lounge area. The last time I was there they did mention they were renovating the upper level so be sure to ask if you are considering it.

Ruth's Chris and Barbarians are great ideas for a steakhouse,a couple of others are Jacobs steakhouse or Morten's (I think more expensive then Ruth's, about equivalent to Barbarian's). Sultan's tent is a great place, but I don't know if it would be great for a bachelor party, almost too cultured for a bunch of guys (no offence, you may all be very cultured, but you probably want to get rowdy and loud at some point).

Anyway, have fun and I hope this helps a bit.

I've been paintballing and go-karting at 401 Mini Indy for bachelor parties. Both were insanely fun. We had enough people both times to rent out the entire place for ourselves and the staff at the 401 Mini Indy were so cool. They let A LOT of bumping slide... lol

Thanks so much for all your help. That's exactly the info I was hoping for. I'll check out a few of those places you guys mentioned.
Keep it coming if you have more ideas.
