Sooo...this is what my battery currently looks like... it functions perfectly never short of juice, i can hang out with the radio on (engine off) for atleast 45mins, never had a problem thus far.
only thing is that it looks like crap. and that bar that holds the battery down is getting all "acidy" and corroded
advice would be awesome, should i just pull the battery out, give it a scrub + sand/spray paint that bar?
thanks in advance!

If its working fine, its probably fine. Take everything out and clean it off with a 50/50 mix of baking soda/water (I normally use a toothbrush to clean) to neutralize the acid. Then yeah, sand/spray your bracket. Then, by the looks of the rest of your picture, clean the rest of your engine bay :P

you could try filling a bucket up in your appt/condo with some warm water and use a sponge/cloth. Personally I just use the citrus degreaser you get from CT, and then wipe it down afterwards with a wet cloth. If it's got a real nasty build up or dirt/sand I will use a vacuum first.

Exactly what I do. When it's EXTREMELY dirty, then you might need to bring a bucket of water to (try to) rinse your cloth

ABSOLUTELY NO! You do not want to be farking around in your condo parking spot to do this, as the acid may destroy the concrete coating most condos have on thier lot floors AND then you'll be paying to get it fixed and it's not cheap.
A bucket or large container with water will be fine and do the job.BUT do it in some parking lot or somewhere where no damage can be caused. Also get some garbage bags and cover all areas immediately surrounding your battery, especially 'painted' areas...Slowly poor the water on the battery, throw in some baking soda, scrub, then rinse with some more water.Use old rags to wipe it down as thier toast once used.Remember to dab some lithium grease on the battery posts/clamps after cleaning.
Oh and please wear safety glasses thru the process.

I wasn't talking about the battery. I was talking engine bay in general. Theres nothing wrong with dirty water on the concrete, just take your battery elsewhere to clean it.
