Can I go as low as 14" for winter wheels?

New owner of a 2007 Mazda3 Hatchback, and not much car knowledge.
Found a great deal on some winter wheels but they're P185/65/R14, which is 2" smaller than the 16" stock. Do I pass?

For your car, you need at least 16s to clear the brakes.

Hmm, and they might be 17" stock, now that I'm looking things up. I actually take possession next week. Thanks for the quick reply.

Yep only 16" rims for anything with the 2.3L motor.
