Finally decided on a new shift know. Just thought I'd pass on this company that makes some pretty nice stuff. Also, if you enter "mazdaspeed" at the checkout you get an additional 10% off. Shipping to Canada was less than $10. It looks to be a decent option to the TWS varieties.

How's the weight compared to stock? Heavier? Or the same?
Looks good.
I have to replace my shift knob soon as the stitching has worn out and I have a question:
1. Do these metallic shift knobs get hot in the sun (or extremely cold in winter)?

Mine did. Was aluminium. I had it on for 2 weeks before I bought another.
Looks good.

From experience.... VERY HOT!
On a hot day, and with no direct sunlight on it, the car's interior heat is enough to make you shift faster and use as little contact with it.
John (Booter22) just installed one in his car a few weeks back... and holy cow...that shift knob got extremely hot on some days! :flaming

I ordered just a universal chrome shift knob, and I've been looking at my shifter for a while now. Probably a stupid question, but how do you remove the stock manual shift knob?

u should bring along a glove when u drive if u install that kinda metal knob. extremely hot during summer and cold in the winter, thus the reason for a glove. :D

I picked up the Big Type R knob from redlinegoods ... I can attest that even in current temperatures, it's really really cold ...

Ill definitely be wearing gloves for a while! Tried twisting it, it wouldnt budge. Im weary of twisting it too hard that it breaks, but I'lll try using pliers
