2004 Mazda 3 gt - Overheating and Battery light on

My car has been making a noise for the past week I think its coming from one of the belts and it would only do it when I start the car. It would go away when its warm. This morning, it did it again but when I started to drive there was a loud noise and It would get louder as the rpm got higher. Its like a rattling sound. I kept driving and when I got off the highway it got much louder. That noise lasted like a minute and it went away. Then i noticed the temperature of the car went really high and the battery light was on.

Any ideas of what it is. Thanks

I think it's the generator belt where the noise is coming from.
