So this weekend i thought i'd try to install my sub and amp in my 06 GT. Installation went smooth but for some reason when i go to turn my car off, the system stays on. Here's a list of fuses i've attempted to hook my remote wire to:

Cigarette lighter...HU and amp stay on after i turn off the car, for some reason if i hold down the cigarette lighter for a while, the HU and amp turn off

Radio...had the exact same issue as the cigarette lighter, it also shuts down the system when i press down on the cigarette lighter for a few seconds (no clue why that works here too)

Moon roof, amp is always on

Windshield wiper, amp is always on

No idea what I could have done wrong. I've tried tapping into the other prong on the fuse but that doesn't work either. Could it be my ground wire? Super confused right now.

Note: I'm using the stock head unit, tapped into the speaker wires @ lower B panels, running HIDs, car starter and alarm and only have a GROM ipod module hooked up to my HU

Right now i have it hooked up to the ignition fuse which is OK accept for the fact i cant use my sub when the key is in the ACC position

Side note: my passenger door handle rattles like crazy now, any idea how I can get that to go away...it's only the handle and not the door itself (really annoying):bang
Thanks

If your HU is staying on, your wiring is wrong. Double check your constant +12v and your switched +12v wiring...

I usually just wire my amp trigger wire to the (light?) blue "remote" wire, which is sometimes known as the power antenna wire..

Edit: I always associate HeadUnit/HU with an aftermarket HU, not the stock unit... I see what you're doing now. What did you change on your stock HU? The thing is plugged in via harness, so it should be fine. The amp should be the only thing you're trying to find a circuit for, no?

I believe when I ran my sub on my Bose system, there was a trigger wire I tapped into for the amp. If you need a circuit that's only on when key'd on, use your power window circuit in the passenger junction box. If you need something that goes on when your key is on ACC, then use the cig lighter/radio circuits....

That's correct i'm only looking to trigger the amp...in fact i never even took the stock unit out...I ran 12 volt constant from the battery, through the passenger side grommet, down the side of the car to the amp...and my remote wire...from the fuses behind the glove compartment back to my amp...As i mentioned before it's working perfectly fine with the ignition fuse but I don't get power to my sub with the key in the ACC position (first click)

You might have better success if you find which line is the switched 12v line in your radio harness.
Meaning, remove your stock head unit. With a little research, it will be very easy to find which on of those multiple lines is the 12v switched line. Isolate it... DO NOT cut it, but tap into it.

What year is your car? Im sure someone will have the answer to which line is the 12v switched pretty quickly.

So from what i've read online so far - the yellow line is your 12v switched. Tap into that.. you should be fine.
Attached is a quick video I found. Hope that helps.

Double check this... yellow is usually constant power, red is switched.

Can anyone confirm this?

And does anyone know what I can do about my door handle rattling???

That is correct. red is the trigger wire to turn on the deck and yellow is constant power.

Your door handle rattle can be solved by applying dynamat or some sound deadener around the speaker instelf or on the outer shell of the door

I checked a guide online... printed it off so can't send you the link but my information says;

Battery Constant; 12V+ Wire Orange/Black
Accessory Switched; 12V+ Wire Yellow

The one thing I didn't check is the brand of the HU because on a Pioneer HU (which is what I'm referrencing) Yellow is battery and Red is Accessory.

That is correct. I use a pioneer as well. However, he is looking to tap into the 12v switched line on the stock harness. He is not using a aftermarket deck, which seems to be causing the confusion.

Well, when in doubt, drop by Futureshop or Best Buy and look at a vehicle harness --- Hell, I think I have one at home I can check. Look for the yellow and red wires and count the position on the harness... Match that position with your harness and bam, you have your wire colors. If you're tapping into the factory harness, then maybe red and yellow aren't the colors you need....

I'm using the stock unit and not an aftermarket HU. The fuse i'm using now (IGNITION) seems to be working fine aside for the fact my sub isn't on when the keys in the ACC position....unfortunate that the cigarette lighter fuse didn't work as i had planned

Your sub isn't on leaves the trigger wire is at fault here. Rerun it to the yellow wire (ignition). If that doesn't fix the issue, it only leads me to believe that your alarm was installed incorrectly.
