3's and Other Mazdas at Sigma Time Attack June 26, 2011

Hey all,
Just wanted to post some pics I took at the Sigma event this past Sunday. If I didn't get your car it's probably because
a) I was shooting with an old manual focus lens for most of the day so the pics don't always come out as sharp as I'd like
or
b) I left early because I forgot my good memory card and filled my backup with 200 pics by noon
But there is always next time.

I want to.. either for photos or with my car lol... I've got a little bit more suspension work to do then hopefully a roll bar by the end of the July also... we shall see...

Why does every event I see lately at the DDT run the track counter-clockwise? IMO clockwise is much more challenging.

Why does every event I see lately at the DDT run the track counter-clockwise? IMO clockwise is much more challenging.

Sigma chose the CCW with 2 kinks config so that people that ran their series could compare their times to the Ontario Time Attack event (then SoloSprint) times as SoloSprint also ran that config.

CW is more challenging (Ian Law's track school runs the CW config with the U turn before the pit straight to keep the speeds down for the students, amongst other reasons) but CCW is faster and people like the fast.

CCW is faster and a bit safer but CW separates the men from the boys. Trying to keep it flat through turn 2 and 3 then braking just enough to get through 4. Then getting back on the throttle for 4 so you don't spin off. My favorite part of the track.

Thanks guys glad you enjoy the pics. I've got a whole flickr page of photos from CSCS, Mosport and the Indy last year (getting a media pass for the Indy year so expect some better pics!) so check it out if you're interested. I love feedback to know what people like and what I can improve on since I only started shooting last spring. I've got some ligthing gear on the way from the states right now and I should be getting into personal car shoots soontimes! Hope to see you 3-people out at some more events this summer and fall.
