I recently got new rims and tires from SimplyTire and now when I go on the highway or above 70 kmh, the steering wheel vibrates, moves back and forth about .5-1 cm at most. Car still drives straight when I let it go but the vibrations on the wheel is a bit odd. Something I should look into or is it normal? I have a feeling one wheel wasnt put on perfectly straight but I kinda doubt it as the guys at SimplyTire do try to do everything perfect.
Dont think you would need to know this but if you do:
17" x 7.5" rims
Bridgestone Potenza RE760 Sport tires
Additional work in wheel well: Painted brake calipers

Get them to double check that the wheels are balanced properly.

1.balance wheels
2.make sure you didnt need hubcentric rings.(just ask them)
You cant really mount a wheel wrong..place wheel on studs, tighten lugs.
Its most likely just an off balance wheel or two.

I sent Allen from SimplyTire a PM about it, would he be able to fix it free of charge since they did the mounting and balancing when I got these rims?
I'm assuming that your rims are aftermarket?
Did they put hub rings? Most aftermarket rims bore is bigger then are car 67.1 so you need to put a hub ring.
If their is hub rings then they might have screwed up the balance have them re do it

I typed to slow you beat me to it lol

Thanks guys, I now have a better understanding of whats going on with my wheels. To be honest the vibration didn't bother me too much so I was gonna ignore it but since I was on the forums in this section for another thread, thought might as well post it and see whats up. Glad I asked.

Turned out my tires needed to be rebalanced. Rim apparently got shifted a bit on the tire when I got the tires and rims installed. I pushed the car a bit too much and because the lubricant used on the tire to get the rim installed was not dry yet, it slid a bit. Allen took care of it pretty fast. Glad I went to them for my rims. Anything tire related I will be going to them. Smooth as can be now.

JFYI; You should not be pushing your car with new tires installed for atleast 500-700kms.There is a break-in period for tires.

I'm amazed Allen didn't mention it to you before you drove off.
