Hey guys I was planning on putting an LED light bulb in the opened slot in the top corner of the high beam section of the assembly. I just know what is the correct socket to get. For the stock headlights that slot is closed. This set I bought is a JDM replacement for the mazda 3 04-09.

not sure of the socket size.. I know it is a 194 on the Mazda6.. I just used a single led on my 05 Mz3

did you have to buy the socket yourself. If yes where? or did it come with it?

they are for the parking lights... the corner lights are for turn signals only, not a combo
why did you get JDM headlights? they're unsafe and illegal!

why are they unsafe or illegal?

If it's not DOT approved it's illegal

IIRC - the lens is made of glass and would shatter upon impact.

they are DOT approved!! its written in the bottom of the headlights!!

Then it's not original JDM
DOT approval is a North American term

Which means they're made in NA as a JDM-replica but also means they're 100% Legal

why are they unsafe or illegal?

because the beam pattern faces opposite traffic instead of towards our road side
people in japan drive on the "wrong" side of the road... in otherwords, these lights will blind oncoming traffic

there's nothing you can do to fix it... it's part of how the headlight is made

well apparently they are not jdm but replicas!!! also I had to aim them when installed (lowered and centered). now the beam has this x pattern that my stock headlights didnt have. now I just have to figure out a way for the cut off to be aligned a 100% (bleeds a little)!! but I was neever flashed for blinding drivers on opposite side so I guess thats a good thing

aiming any headlights is always necessary when you install them, jdm or not

if the beam pattern is higher on the left than the right, they are JDM headlights and are unsafe for north american use... replica or not
