Hello everyone, first of all I would like to thank all of those who participated in the event for the last four years and have supported us.

Most of you by now are already familiar with the event. For those who are not, TASR is a great family event that attracted over 200 participants last year, and raised close to $6000 in donations for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel for the last four years. The show is all about setting role models for our youth; …therefore Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel could not be a better charity for the event. Help us this year reach a higher goal to help them out! It costs approximately $1,000 per child for find an appropriate volunteer.
I am sure that in this difficult economic situation we are facing, they could use our help more than ever.

The purpose is to build on our previous events, and spread even more awareness. As well to further showcase automotive enthusiasts, and tuners as responsible individuals making a difference in their communities. This is also a call out to anyone who has links in media to get them to come out and see for themselves what Tuners and Youth Automotive enthusiasts are really doing and how they support their communities and Charity.

August 28th, 2011.

Mosport International Raceway

Important Announcement! NO FEES for SHINERS.. to be on the Mosport race track. If you compete in the show shine, take your car and have a chance in a controlled manner under supervision and have a parade laps on the Track. If driving your car on the Grand Prix Mosport track is not your thing you can get a ride along with a pro driver in their race car!

$30 to compete in the show shine, includes parade laps
(Club rate, 5 or more cars at a time - $20 each)
$15 to just show your vehicle and not compete in the trophy competition
$250 for Vendor booth - which is a Donation to Big Brothers Big sisters as well.

Hope to see you there
Sincerely,

A few questions have came up?

Q. Why at the track?
A. Being the only charity show shine supporting racing on the track and promoting this initiative for many years, we have gotten a once in a lifetime opportunity to host the event part of a real racing event this year. It was always our dream to take the event to the track as it is our philosophy. Plus this will be the first time ever that the MAIN MOSPORT track will hold a show shine! This is not Driver Development Center track people. ;)

Q. Why $30?
A. It was always our philosphy to maximize donations to Big Brothers Big Sisters charity. We simpy can not charge $15 or $10 each year as we have been generous for the past 4 years and expect to raise maximum amount of money for our chosen charity. Costs of charity operation have risen as has the cost of many other shows... eg. IMPORTFEST. Our event is approved by Big Brothers and Big sisters and for them. Each year TASR hosts Big Brothers booth and is filled with their representatives to try to recruit volunteers and monitor donations etc. In addition we always have a bus of little ones who come with their big brothers to spectate and enjoy the rides. Unlike some events who claim to be charity events our event actually makes a donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters each year it has been run. Our goal is to raise maximum money for Big Brothers Big sisters first and foremost, not provide a portion of money to donations.

Q. What makes TASR special this year?
A. Pivotal year as we are finally taking it to the track ourselves. As well, first time ever in the history that a show in Canada will provide the ability of show cars or show shine people who enjoy the art of car modification a bit different than track or time attack cars, to try their whips in a FIA, ASN, insured and controled way the main Mosport Track... FREE with registration. This could be the step to get people into grassroots racing and support which is what Canada really lacks. Or if you dont want to take your car, you will have a chance as a ride along in a time attack spec vehicle around the track with a trained driver!

I know you guys have chosen to have your MOM event this year in August at the same time as TASR and sometimes thats how the dice rolls. Just too many shows in the summer. However I would like to deeply thank you for continuous support with TASR over the last 4 years. Our date has been posted for number of months now as well. Over the years it was always toronto mazda 3, toronto mazda6, ToProtege who brought in the numbers to our events and continuously supported the events. For that I deeply thank you and wish you the best with MOM this year.

Being a mazda enthusiast with my Mx6 for many years and being involved in the MOTM commity for organizing MOM back in 2007 when we did our event with CSCS and MAZDA Canada at Cayuga, it brings a tear to my passionate eye and makes me proud to see your continued involvement in the automotive scene. Props guys!

We realize that ImportExpo is having a Time attack style Track event during the same day but at the Mosport Development Center. And we work with ImportExpo as well. This is however a more of a show/meet style show this year to have you guys come out and hang out. Please note that during the meet there will also be semi-pro Time attack competition racing happening on the track for the rest of the day. This is also a perfect opportunity to try your hand and your car on a professional track, with no racing experience required for FREE!! with registration for the show shine! Future race guys this is your chance to take the MAZDA on the track in an insured and controlled way to try it out! Wow what an opportunity.

We shall see you there everyone.

Ohh you dont have to register to compete if you want parade laps :) Both show shine competition($30) and just show($15) entries will get chance at parade lapping.

Because Parade lapping is conrolled with a faster going pace car etc. No special helmets are required but seatbelts are necessary!

What if I just want to go on a lap but not compete in the show and shine (car's not ready for that yet). :)

EDIT ^^ Answered the question on previous post. :thumbsup

TASR is a great charitable event that I've been lucky enough to participate in over the last 4 years.
As I'm moving on August 26th, I've dedicated that whole weekend to unpacking and getting things orgnaized. I will not be attending any meets or shows that whole weekend.

Matt, hope you have a successful event!

Anyone else competing in the OTA/National Time Attack event this weekend? I'll be repping Mazda in the Nationals instead of MOM... first time I'll miss MOM in a quite a few years. Hope it's a great event.

I might have been interested in this if there was a drag strip there lol jk jk
I've already volunteered to help with MOM, so sadly I cannot. Even though I've just taken all my wheels off and cleaned the hell out of them. :(
