View Full Version : Where/How to dispose oil.
I have a small amount of motor oil left from an oil change earlier this year. I has been sitting in my room.... I know I shouldn't dump it down the drain or just a trash due to environmental issues. Does anyone know where I can go to dispose of this oil?
Thanks!

Hey - You can take it to your local City of Toronto waste transfer station which handles hazardous goods. I know there is one at Nugget and Markham Rd.
Make sure you check their hours of operation, it's very limited. I think only Wednesdays and Saturdays.

You can drop it off at any Canadian Tire
They will take the oil and the oil filter aswell.
They also have after hour drop off. You basically just drop it off at their garage door.

You can download the Toronto PDF for all the Drop off locations & Hours for dropoffs here:
http://www.toronto.ca/garbage/pdf/solidwastedrop-offdepots.pdf
Toronto will take all your used OIL/Filters/Batteries/Propane tanks from you for FREE. Its a quick and easy process you don't have to wait in a long line like there is for Solid Waste Drop off which costs money and you wait in line forever!
