View Full Version : Gas Gauge issue

Hey guys, I was just on a hill, and the car stalled. I turned it back on, and the gas tank was reading at empty. Before stalling it was a little over a 1/4 tank. Would this be a sensor issue? Btw, no CEL or any other lights to speak of. Thanks.

Alright, so I just filled up. The gas pump shut off at 37L. I believe the tank is 55L, so I'm assuming it's either the fuel pump or the gauge itself. I did search through this forum again, and found something relative to it, but there's was no conclusion. Again, suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hmm sounds like a fuel pump or filler neck issue. Do you have extended warranty?

Yes, I'm lucky my friend who owns the car lot convinced me to buy into the extended warranty. The lot mechanic also suggested the filler neck as a potential problem. I'm hoping that's it. I'm going to drive it down to a 1/4 tank and see if it happens again. Let's hope it doesn't! Thanks for your input.
