I just bought a brand new Mazda RX-8 and went to a few dealerships across GTA. I got different experiences from each of them, based on the area, volume of sales and type of cars they were selling most. Here is what I got:
Mazda Toronto = Most Expensive!
Downtown Toronto = Honest and in the middle pricewise
Yorkdale Mazda = The Worst especially the sales manager (John Rahman) only thing he was good at it was insulting!!!
Richmond Hill Mazda = Great people mostly and lowest prices - best so far for me
Westowne Mazda = Honest with flexibility in price (ask for Tony)
Gyro Mazda = Unorganized and they just want to get you in!!!!
Erin Mills Mazda = High volume seller with decent prices
Please lets share our experience so it might benefit some of us in future.
Thanks Everyone.

You should have spoke to Jeff.
That would have changed your perception of MOT :)

You can't judge a dealership by the one salesguy that you got stuck with..
If you had the one salesperson that hasn't sold a car in a week and has only delivered 4 this month, expect to pay a little more as he/she needs to make up some $$$
Talk to the one that has sold 5 this week and has already met their goal for the month, and you will get a better deal.
Better still... find one that doesn't need to sell cars..

thanks enzo_gti for the kind words!
As Stefano said we take a lot of pride in what we do and try our best to not be your "typical" dealership. We are all one team and trying to change the perception people have about car salespeople and this business all together. Tired of reading about people's horrid experiences at car dealerships. Time to make a change!!
Everyone is more than welcome to come visit us and get treated like human beings and not just a $ sign! Make us your preferred Mazda Store and see the difference!
Cheers
G

I had a great experience at Westowne Mazda... everyone I spoke with was very honest and genuine and I would definitely return there for service.

401 Dixie Mazda:
Assistant sales manager Asen Nawaz is the rudest and most insulting employee of any dealership (not just Mazda) that I've been to. I went to that dealership twice (first time, the dealer we were looking for wasnt there) with my old man to buy a second Mazda (we have a 13 CX5) and both times he insulted us to our faces and even said "oh no, these guys" when he saw us a second time (when we went to meet with our dealer after missing him the first time). He hesitated to shake our hands and when he reluctantly did, he sighed loudly and looked away. Then he insulted us that were undermining Mazda quality (even though were clearly back to buy another one). He was very annoyed with us just simply asking for a better price than the skyrocket value he originally proposed.
Stay away from Asen Nawaz at 401 Dixie Mazda at all costs!!!!!!!!

I forgot to mention that the first time we visited, we were looking for a specific associate and we said we would come back but Asen insisted he would talk to us himself. Despite us not even going there to talk to him in the first place, he said that we were "wasting his time". I have never seen such unprofessional behaviour and bad customer service from a MANAGER!!!!

My experience with dealerships isn't extensive at all but I hope this helps.
Gyro - not bad, it used to be a lot better when the yellow airplane was still hanging in the showroom.
My water pump started started leaking horribly so it was the only dealership within range. Service was good but pricey. A CEL popped up the next day, they cleared it for no charge and performed more additional wotk. Just annoying really.
Scambro - I bought my car there because the price was too good, shortly after they overcharged me for a servicing and would not give me the portion of my money back. I haven't been back since.
One good thing- there is a senior mechanic who is very dedicated that I recognize from when my dad had his cars serviced there about 10 years ago. Very good guy, unfortunately managed by bad staff.
MoT - so far so awesome. I don't do dealership servicing anymore but I buy all my parts there. The parts guys are always great with answering questions, ordering and looking for parts. The TM3 discount is very nice as well.
Last time I was picking up parts, I was browsing the new 3. There were a lot of people there looking as well, and the salesperson (Sat night guy) was very nice in answering questions and was not pushy at all.

mazda of Toronto
had battery problem worst service dept. You tell them what you want done they listen and then do what they deem necessary.
unfortunately my battery was only covered 50% warranty, they demanded I either pay for a new battery 50% or pay for the battery check which co=incidently was the cost of the battery. Holding car for ransom great dealership, if you want to get f--ked go here

Agree for MoT, I order parts there even I don't live anywhere close by there.
I tried Erin Mills Mazda which is much closer to me and their parts dept never pick up the call, the receptionst took down my tel# to have somone call me back. It never happened. I gave them a second chance, samething happened. Will never call them again.
QEW Mazda is OK, but they don't carry the TM3 discount anymore.

Just to give some light to Dixie Mazda, I bought my car from the internet salesman Gordon. He gives you prices based on Invoice cost + X% since he contacts you if you've signed up on unhaggle.com. Just be wary of the 600$$ security package they try to sneak in!
As for every other employee in that building, stay away from them. I only go back there because its down the road from where I work and its convenient for oil changes.
