So I put on my new rims the other day :) but I used tuning nuts from pacific mall. They were no names in a plastic bag. I put the tires on a drove around and noticed that the nuts were coming loose. I didn't have a torque wrench and I figured that's why. So I tightened them again after driving and they haven't become loose. Im going to get a torque wrench today to tighten them. But I'm still worried about them being cheap. Anyone use these before ?

I think its because you didn't torque them. I'd say monitor them after u torque em up and see what happens

I dont see how a torque wrench will make a difference since it just meausres how much force is being applied to the nuts not actually making them any tighter.

Unless you tightened them with your fingers if they were put on tight and now they are coming loose then id say its because theyre crap.

The only benefit of a torque wrench is when you need precise amount of force on a bolt/nut to prevent overtightening. I cant see anyone undertightening unless you just dont have the right tools.

You could use the torque wrench to check if the nuts are becoming lose if you know how much you orignally torqed them at and then check the nuts again after a bit of driving.

Anyway thats just my take on it. IMO if you buy cheap parts then be prepared for the possibility that they may not work as intended.

sounds to me you might need hubcentric rings, if those rims are aftermarket.

I am pretty sure they are fine but just keep checking them. The only thing different about them is probably the paint on the lug nuts (assuming the are colored) which may wear off easier then other ones, oh and can't forget the weight.

yeah i have been checking them and so far so good. I do have the hubsentric rings on. I decided im going to get better lug nuts and change them, its not worth worrying all the time.

that video haunted me .. i went and bought some Blox lugnuts which look amazing on my work emotions 's :). Got a really good deal because one of them was slightly a different shade of blue. Barely noticable. I changed the lugnuts at the store and the pmall nuts paint was all chipped off and they looked like they were about to fall apart.

whats the chances of them giving me a refund?

Why did you buy them if one was missing? That would be a "Final Sale" even at a normal store in my books. Sorry. :(
