As the title says, I'm thinking of running a new deck with the stock speakers. Main reason is money. I want to grab a new hu, amp and 10" sub. Adding components and rear speakers would burn a larger hole in my wallet than I'd care for. Plus, I'd rather not cheap out and buy a better pair of speakers downthe road. So, now that I've given some background, basically I'm asking if the stock speakers would handle an extra 20-25 watts...assuming that hu ever reaches it's max output.

I'm no sound system guru, but I have the same setup your going for +1 sub. Mind you I'm not getting enough power from the amp I have.. I don't think you will have problems though.

You will be fine. The internal amps in aftermarket head units are actually fairly weak rms wise.

Good stuff, that's exactly what I want to hear. Thanks guys. Btw, Dave, what lowering springs do you have?

How would a sub added on to the stock system sound? I've been searching on the forum, but no good results to speak of.

If you get an aftermarmet deck its just RCAs, but if you use your stock hu then its a LOC that your splice into your stock wiring
