I am having an intermittent problem with my keyless entry system. All of the buttons for the stock remote work sporadically, typically 1 out of 10 times.

- Tried new batteries, no difference.
- Spare remote from dealer causes alarm to go off when locking or unlocking but works consistantly.
- Successfully reprogramed both remotes, no difference.
- No difference between standing 2ft away or 30ft away.
- Bought another remote from ebay (looks exactly like the factory remote) can't get it to program.

haven't checked fuse, but fuses are typically blown or working not sporadic.

Just looking to consistantly be able to get into and out of the vehicle with keyless and without alarm.

Would appreciate any suggestions.

Interesting challenge!

1. The fact the remotes LOOK the same doesn't mean the _are_ the same. Several versions floating around -- you need one compatible with the electronics in your car.
2. Doors unlocking but alarm going off leads me to believe you either have OEM dealer installed remote start in your car, dealer installed OEM alarm, or third-party alarm system that has been programmed to use the stock key fob. (OEM remote start has remotes that look the same as the stock ones, except the they have a start button. OEM add-on alarm probably looks the same as stock keyfob...I've never seen one, but have seen programming instructions that refer to it.) If that is the case then you need probram the remote the add-on system, not the built-in one.

3. Try dissassembling the remote and cleaning the contact surfaces with rubbing alcohol. When dry reassemble and see if it works.
