Hi guys,

I am thinking of upgrading the stock HU with an aftermarket stereo. But I am new to upgrading stereos, so I just wonder if I can pick you guys' brains a little bit.

What do you guys suggest for a HU for 2005 MZ3? The must have function that I want is bluetooth connection for handsfree and song playback, works with the steering controls, and of cuz, radio!

Any knowledge sharing is greatly appreciated!

Thanks guys in advance!

I have an older Alpine for mine. I never bought the steering wheel module for it to enable the buttons though. It's the Alpine CDA-9855. Works quite well with the factory speakers. I bought it back in 05 when I purchased my M3. Spend the extra few bucks on the proper mounting kit though, as its well worth the money. It makes for a much cleaner factory look as opposed to some who use the universal one that sticks out.

I just bought in January a alpine CDA-117 and this thing sounds awesome

As for steering wheel control you have to buy another adaptor which I think is well over $100

If your going for a single DIN deck with majority of popular features, I am quite fond of this deck

Seems not a bad deck...too bad it's out of stock...

btw, when getting a single DIN deck, do i need a deck kit like the double DIN deck ones?
