View Full Version : Noise/Vibrating Problem after Pro-kit install

I just installed my Eibach Prokits this weekend. I had the front done on Saturday and the rears today as I ran out of time Saturday.

Test drove it around once the fronts were done and there seems to be an irritating noise. The best way I can describe the noise is its somewhat like a fan that's just spinning with a bit of a squeal while I'm driving but disappears upon braking. I thought it was because I did not have the rears completed but still no difference afterwards. I'm assuming it has something to do with the brakes or the wheels? Or did I not install something correctly?

Also, I had my tires balanced back in June because of speed vibrations and now its worse than ever. Are my tires unbalanced again or are they solely due to the installation of the prokits? I've read that I must wait a few weeks to have them settled but its annoying when driving on the highway. Vibrations are sometimes felt on residential roads. Should I wait or have them aligned immediately?

Any ideas/thoughts on the two problems?

When you change stuff on your suspension.. especially lowering it I am assuming you need an alignment bro!

Thats what it sounds like when you drive on the inner edge of your tires and wear them like stoooopid.

Yup, removed and put back with impact wrenches until tight, plus hand wrench for reassurance.

So get an alignment asap without letting the springs settle?

It kinda sounds like a radiator fan that's just spinning slowly... If that helps?

The sound is also on my dad's 2000 Honda CR-V

The longer you drive it out of alignment the more damage you'll do to your tires. Just look at the camber after the prokit, there will be a noticable angle.

Came back from an alignment service from Malik @ KSL Automotive. This did not fix my noise problem.

I believe some of the weights from my previous wheel balance came off because there is residue beside the weights. Does anyone know if Canadian Tire will replace them or should I go somewhere else. If so, what do you guys recommened?

Also, I took pictures of my front springs and would like to know if the spaces at the ends make a difference. Stock ones were touching perfectly but after decompressing Eibach springs onto shocks they moved a bit:
