Hey everyone, I have installed two amps in my trunk. One is tapped into the rear speakers with an LOC and is powering my sub while the other is tapped into my front speakers with an LOC powering the front speakers which are aftermarket.

I did the Sub amp first and had it for a week or two with no issues, then I added the aftermarket speakers and had no problems. Finally I installed the second amp to power the front speakers and did not have any issues for about a week.

Now what is happening is when I turn the car on I only get sound out of my rear speakers and sub. The amp looks to turn on ok so I thought maybe I had a connection go on my LOC. Strange thing is if I turn my HU off and back on the sound usually comes in on the fronts also. This has happened twice, and only once the car has been sitting for the day while im at work. If I turn the car off for a few minutes and back on the system works like normal.

Any ideas on what could be the issue here? I am using my cig lighter for my remote turn on wire. I also have some LEDs on the cig lighter also but my understanding is LED draw very low current and the amp only need 500mV or so to turn itself on.

I am just stumped on where to start looking for my issue and am hoping someone here can give me some advice.

Much thanks!

I would start at your Remote Turn ON wire and your grounds. Ensure those aren't faulty. They can be the culprit lots of times.
If your connections at your LOC are good... and your amp turns on, then its the LOC itself likely.

Ok, I just find it so strange that it works fine it just takes awhile for the sound to come in after the car has been off awhile. I notice it getting worse. I just went to the mall for about 30 minutes and it took about 25 seconds or more for the sound to come in on the fronts. After it does though its fine.

Could it be the amp itself? I doubt it would be the LOC as they are just changing the signal and I would assume if they were to not work they would just not work completely. The Amp I am using for the front speakers is an old crappy MTX that I got off eBay.

IT could likely be an amp issue.
If the amp has an on light, have someone turn on the system and wait in the back to see how long it takes to come on. For remote lines, are you running two separate lines or running one from one amp to another? If you can switch your two amps around and see what happens. If the symptoms come back "reversed" then you know its an amp issue.
If the symptoms are the same... its something in the wiring.

Try a different remote wire. your loc should come with one.
When i hooked up my backup camera to my cigarette light it burned it out, i guess to much amperage in the cigarette lighter.
Check to see if your remote wire gets hot that might be the problem as there is to much amperage in such a small guage wire causing it to overheat.
