Clutch Pedal Return spring. In 30Year of stick, I have never had this happen.
Worse...:( replacement part is clutch pedal assembly and master, $200, Cannot get the spring separate. So any parting a stick Mazda3 in GTA.

Call up your local wreckers and see if you can get the spring from them.

Im sure you could find that spring at a hardware store....

I would really like that, but the pedal is plastic, so too much tension and snap to pedal.
Already been to Dealer, Brafasco, Mr Transmission, Carquest, Standard, and Napa.

That spring broke on me a couple of months ago. It's not sold separately and will have to replace the whole clutch pedal assembly. It sucks. Somebody on M3F.com was able to change the spring themselves by getting a spring at the hardware store. I have no idea how he was able to contort his body to work under the dash though.

just a stupid thought on this one. if you have to replace the whole clutch assembly to get the spring from the dealer. wouldnt that mean the whole thing comes out of the car, meaning it can be easily replaced outside of the car???

Tried that guy, He does not have it. Car-Parts shows someone in Sudbury has a stick car.

Going to try Mazda Service, maybe I get extremely lucky and Mazda will cover something.

Clip a bit of the broken tail off, bend the end loop up and you're good to go.

The dealer doesn't sell just the spring. It's a complete kit.

you said you dont know how he contorted himself under the dash to change the spring right. y not take the whole assembly out of the car to change the spring if you cant contort yourself to do it under the dash while the assembly is in.

Yeah, it is bull shit that the spring is not separate. It take 18 washers and 5 minutes and used one will fall out, but non of the wreckers can be bothered to do that for a spring. So your buying a used pedal assembly or if you are lucky the Kijiji guy in markham will have something.
I did not try ford parts, which maybe is worth a try, but probably not it. Under Fusion parts.
Personally it is a defective part, try getting the dealer to cover some cost.
Good Luck.
P.S. The car drove fine for the month that I did not have this spring. Getting it in is not as easy, you need super skinny arms or super long needle nose pliers.
