View Full Version : Ticking Noise From the Engine
Hey guys I recently bought a 2006 Mazda 3 GT. The car runs great, but the only problem is it a ticking noise is coming from the engine. Ive taken in it to many mechanics and some have suggested that its just the driving chain which is causing the noise, and recommended that I put ticker oil in the engine. Ive done that and the noise is still there. I was wondering has any one else experienced the same problem? And what can i do to fix it cause its quite annoying :(

Can you make a video and post it up on here? It would really help alot. Can you specify which area of the engine its coming from?

Could be a bent valve.
Take it to jimmy at street performance

Does the ticking increase proportional to an increase in RPM? How much driving have you done since it started 'ticking'?
A video or sound clip would be ideal.

I guess u can also unplug the shutter valve to see if the noise will disappear.
I actually took it to several mechanics and said that it was the lifters, but when the lifters were serviced the engine got shut down :/ the engine had to be completely replaced but luckily the dealer i bought it from replaced it for me :D
